In 2022, RELANC continues to be concerned about the impact of COVID on the practice of real estate law in North Carolina. E-Notary services, RON and RIN will continue to be a focus of our lobbyist Jim Harrell’s efforts in the NC General Assembly. We also continue to actively monitor, research, document, and report situations of the Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL), as they are brought to our attention.

Are you eligible to join?
Membership is limited to NC-licensed attorneys practicing commercial or residential real estate law as well as NC-licensed attorneys employed by title entities conducting business here. For this reason, you will need to provide your NC State Bar Number to confirm your membership. We also use that number to download updated addresses each year. Membership is based on the calendar year.
The first member in a firm will pay $250, and any subsequent members from the same firm will only pay $125.
Online Payments
Please fill out this form or email the Executive Director to request an online invoice be generated for you! We have shifted to QuickBooks invoicing in order to keep costs down, as 75% of RELANC members pay with firm checks. If and when online payment volume increases, it will then be appropriate to select a more feature-rich payment vehicle.
RELANC is a 501(c)(6) entity. Contributions to section 501(c)(6) organizations are not typically deductible as charitable contributions on the donor’s federal income tax return. However, they may be deductible as trade or business expenses if ordinary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s business.
Our accounting firm has determined that dues for RELANC members for 2021 are 50% deductible.
